Shyanne Brant

Shyanne Brant is a Wolf Clan member from Tyendinaga and Akwesasne Mohawk Territories. She recently graduated with her Honours Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work and is currently employed with the City of Toronto in the fight to end Indigenous Homelessness. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing lacrosse and being a creative. Shyanne is an interdisciplinary artist who enjoys painting, printmaking, graphic design, sewing, beadwork, experimenting with natural dyes and most recently quillwork. She grew up in the community of Tyendinaga where she was inspired by traditional Haudenosaunee practice from family members such as her mother, grandmother, and uncles. Shyanne attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe from 2015-2018, where her love for creativity grew as she developed her artistic style. She now incorporates different mediums into creating wearable clothing and accessories such as eveningwear, denim work, headwear, and streetwear.
